At the 2025 RISE Residential Summit in Oxford, England, Climate Positive Design’s Pamela Conrad and Eustacia Brossart led an inspiring Climate and Nature Positive Place workshop for 100 RISE Fellows, all high school students from around the world.

Following an engaging lecture by Conrad on the urgency and opportunity of climate action through landscape architecture, Fellows were challenged to reimagine local sites as models of ecological and climate resilience. Using the Pathfinder app, they designed projects that not only reduced carbon but also enhanced biodiversity and community value. Ideas ranged from restored marshlands to eco-adventure parks, showcasing the creativity and vision of the next generation.

Teams measured the climate and biodiversity performance of their concepts in real time and presented their results in a lively session that was both impressive and hopeful. The workshop highlighted how young leaders can harness design thinking and technology to create places that are regenerative, equitable, and climate positive—demonstrating that the future of our landscapes is in capable and imaginative hands.
